The power of the Internet

It's no surprise that the Internet is one of the most recognisable communicating tools around the globe. It was first introduced in 1965 by scientists and government agencies, who through the years worked pretty hard to get the Internet off the ground and started. Thanks to them, we are now able to access as much information as we can. And it is also widely used to interact with different types of people from all over the world, whether it's business related or personal. Internet will surely be used to either inform, entertain orwarn us of any dangers.

In my opinion, South Africa has grown in the past few years, making it one of the most technologically advanced countries to date. Which is impressive...Every year the number of people connecting to Internet is growing aswell. Internt is used in many forms such as; advertising a new line of clothing, announcing that a function will be taking place via Facebook or Twitter, which are other well known social mediums. The downfall though is that it is very expensive to maintain the Internet but other than that it's a great tool to use. The other amazing thing is that you can have a normal conversation via Skype with your sister who is in England and you in South Africa.

A single tweet can have half the country following, can you see how powerful the Internet is? I don't think we realise how influencial Internet is. Most of us can't do much without it.
There's also wireless Internet, which many companies use to make it easier to connect with Internet, wherever you are.

And through the years, Internet inventions  has literally changed the way we live in society by changing the way we communicate with one another.

We've improved our communicating skills and there is still alot to learn!

  1. Indeed with no doubt there is a lot to be copied from other countries in order for us to better more our internet, one of the main challenges we are facing is that is to educate rural primary kids on how to operate the computer because they face challenges once they get to higher education institutions.

  2. I agree with Lucky there, children from the rural areas are not technologically advanced therefore a lot should be done down there..and as for organisations they really have to use the social media instead of the traditional media that is soo out-dated

  3. Yes Lucky and Thobeka it is a real problem especially in rural areas. But hopefully in the future things should be bettered in all areas of Africa.

  4. We have indeed come a long way as far as technology advances are concerned, but it however seems like in South african rural areas there isn't any difference as far as technology advances are concerned. For instance an average 16 year old individual from the rural areas still does not know how to operate the basic part of a computer , the mouse. In your opinion Miss Alter would you say that South Africa is still growing in technology and if so, y? and if not, who would you say is to blame for it not continously growing.

  5. Yes South Africa is growing, but slowly. There is alot to learn about technology and things are changing so South Africa would then have to find a way to move forward in terms of technology and also find ways of reaching rural communities aswell.
